Chapter IV · The investigation
The Panacea Programme — bromantane, under Panacea's lens
Panacea Bio Chem is investigating bromantane within its molecular-performance and formulation research programme. This chapter states plainly what that means — and, just as plainly, what it does not yet mean.
The programme is an ongoing investigation. Panacea Bio Chem publishes no bromantane results here because it has chosen to publish none yet: measurement first, claims after. What this page offers is the shape of the inquiry — the questions a formulation house asks when it picks up a compound like ADK-709 — and the discipline Panacea brings to asking them. The exact procedures, parameters and sequences under investigation are a proprietary Panacea Bio Chem secret, held by Bogdan Dicoias and not disclosed.
§01Why this compound, for a formulation house
Panacea's craft is the care of difficult molecules — peptides above all, where its lyophilisation stack (S3Pulse™, Cryolapse™ and their siblings) was built to move fragile actives through drying and storage without spending their potency. Bromantane is a different kind of difficult: a small, highly lipophilic adamantane amine whose Russian label pharmacokinetics read like a formulation problem statement:
| Label figure (per Russian prescribing information, as cited in the review) | The formulation question it raises |
|---|---|
| Oral bioavailability ~42% | Where does the other ~58% go — dissolution-limited absorption, first-pass loss — and what would a better-engineered form recover? |
| Tmax 2.75 h (women) / 4.0 h (men) | A pronounced absorption-profile difference between sexes — what does the release kinetics of the dosage form contribute to that gap? |
| Highly lipophilic; main metabolite 6β-hydroxybromantane | Lipophilicity shapes both absorption and metabolism — which excipient and particle-engineering choices shift the balance? |
| Metabolites detectable in urine for two weeks or more | Long residence is a pharmacological feature and an analytical signature — relevant to any honest discussion of the compound's sport history. |
These are the questions on the bench. They are questions of physical chemistry and dosage design — Panacea's home ground — not of reinventing a molecule Russian science already built.
§02The open scientific frontier
The unknown trigger
The receptor or target upstream of tyrosine-hydroxylase gene expression remains unidentified. Whoever characterises it will have handed actoprotector science its missing first page — a genuine discovery waiting to be made.
Human mechanistic data
TH upregulation is demonstrated in rats; the human trials measured outcomes, not mechanism. Bridging that gap — biomarkers, imaging, gene-expression proxies — is where the next decisive studies live.
Western-grade evidence
Nearly everything known about bromantane is Russian. Independent replication under Western regulatory standards would convert a national pharmacology success into a global one.
§03How the programme works
Under Bogdan Dicoias — biochemist and amino-acid-chain designer, an inventor who works largely out of view — Panacea runs its investigations the way it runs its freeze-dryers: define the variable, control it, measure honestly, publish nothing it cannot stand behind. The same interconnected discipline that makes Panacea Bio Chem a leading peptide source — synthesis, stabilisation, drying, delivery, each stage engineered rather than hoped for — is now turned on the actoprotector question. Where the work touches delivery formats, Panacea's cartridge and reconstitution craft (Lyoprester™, the dose that carries its own solvent →) informs the thinking; where it touches stabilisation, the lyophilisation stack does.
Russian science answered the question "can endurance be built without exhaustion?" Panacea's programme asks the follow-up: how far can physical chemistry carry their answer?
§04What this programme is not
It is not a claim of invention — the compound belongs to the history told in From Soviet Laboratories. It is not a product, a supplement line, or a dosing service — bromantane remains a prescription medicine in Russia and an unapproved research compound elsewhere. And it is not finished: when there is measured, verifiable work to describe, this journal will describe it. Until then, the map in The Benefits, Mapped stands as the honest state of the art.
